There is something I love about taking an illustration created for one purpose and finding a new way to enjoy it. A moth that might have first caught your eye as a piece of artwork can now quietly keep your place while you get lost in a story.
I have always been an avid reader, but I could never seem to find bookmarks that I actually enjoyed using. More often than not, I would find myself reaching for whatever scrap of paper happened to be nearby to hold my place.
Eventually, I decided to make my own.
These bookmarks were born from that simple idea: creating little pieces of art that I would genuinely be happy to tuck between the pages of a book. Something to come across each time I opened my book, turning an ordinary little necessity into another opportunity to enjoy a moment of beauty.
Of course, a bookmark still has to do its job. Each one is crafted with care and attention to detail, with rounded corners to help prevent accidentally catching or damaging the corners of your book. A tassel makes it easy to find your place again, while the hole is reinforced with a clear reinforcement label to help keep the tassel securely in place without distracting from the artwork.
I love the thought of this little moth finding its way into another part of someone's everyday life, not only hanging on a wall, but tucked between the pages of a story, waiting patiently for the next chapter.
A little bit of nature, a little bit of art, and something beautiful to discover between the pages.
