I have always thought the big, fluffy cumulus clouds looked a little bit like cotton candy.
Maybe it is because cotton candy has always felt like such a magical childhood treat, something soft and sweet that seems almost too good to be real, yet disappears the moment you take a bite. Blue cotton candy was always my favorite.
Perhaps that is why I still find myself looking up whenever those big, fluffy clouds drift across the sky. There is something about them that makes me want to reach up and pluck a little tuft from the edge, as though I could somehow pull down a piece of ethereal cotton candy floating overhead.
Of course, they are much too far away to reach. So instead, they continue drifting peacefully across the sky, leaving me to wonder what shapes I might find among them.
This painting was inspired by that little bit of childhood imagination. Soft blue and warm orange clouds mingle across the sky, creating a whimsical scene that feels almost like cotton candy floating above the horizon. The muted colors and gentle brushstrokes give the piece a dreamy quality, inviting you to pause and let your imagination wander.
A little bit of childhood wonder, a sky full of cotton candy, and plenty of room to dream.
