Roadside Reveries is a collection for the daydreamers - for those who romanticize the everyday, look for a little whimsy in ordinary moments, and find themselves watching the clouds drift by.

It is for the people who love gazing out the window on a road trip, watching the scenery change as the miles pass by. The people who notice a beautiful patch of sunlight across a field, an interesting cloud formation, or a fleeting glimpse of something that makes them think, Oh, I wish I could stay here for just a little while.

That is what inspired this collection: those fleeting views that make us pause. The ones that make us wish we could stop time long enough to take in the beauty before the landscape changes and the moment becomes a memory.

Roadside Reveries is driven by the kind of beauty that asks nothing of us except to be noticed.

This particular view came from a short road trip to northern Indiana for a massive board game sale. We have a running joke that whenever we drive any significant distance, the weather seems determined to turn nasty along the way. This trip was no exception.

Rain came pounding down as we drove, turning the sky a dreary sort of gray. But even in the middle of the storm, we found ourselves noticing the little things along the way.

Then the rain finally began to break.

Across a quiet field, a stunning shelf cloud stretched along the horizon. Beneath it, patches of blue sky were beginning to peek through, slowly breaking apart the storm and letting little glimpses of light return.

To some, it might have been nothing more than a dreary sky after a rainy day.

But we were captivated.

There was something beautiful about watching the storm move across the landscape, seeing the sky change before our eyes, and knowing that in just a few minutes, the view would be completely different.

And maybe that is what Roadside Reveries is really about.

Noticing the beauty in the moments that might otherwise pass us by. Finding something worth admiring in the ordinary, the unexpected, and even the dreary.

Sometimes all it takes is looking out the window.
