I have always loved the look of a monstera. There is something about those big, beautifully shaped leaves that makes a room feel a little more like a little piece of the jungle.

Unfortunately, I have never been particularly gifted at keeping indoor plants alive. And to make matters a little more complicated, we have cats who seem to believe that every plant in the house is there specifically for them to chew on. So, as much as I love monsteras, bringing a real one into our home probably isn't the best idea.

But I couldn't resist capturing their beauty in a way that would last.

Mon Monstera is my little ode to a plant I love from a afar. It's my way to enjoy those beautiful, sprawling leaves without having to worry about remembering to water them or keeping curious paws away from a plant that can be toxic to them.

Sometimes art lets us bring a little bit of the beauty we love into our everyday lives, even when the real thing isn't quite practical.

And perhaps, for me, that is the perfect kind of houseplant.
